Stephen’s Story

Teenage cancer victim Stephen Sutton honoured in Queen’s Birthday list
The late 19-year-old has been awarded a posthumous MBE for raising more than £4 million for the Teenage Cancer Trust

Most of us were touched by the story of Stephen Sutton, an amazing inspirational young man who inspired more than 170,000 people around the world to donate to the Teenage Cancer Trust through his bravery and high spirits in the face of terminal bowel cancer.

Diagnosed at age 15, he became a household name through his attempt to complete a bucket list of 46 “weird and wonderful things”, which he documented on his blog “Stephen’s Story”.

“I don’t see the point in measuring life in terms of time anymore, I’d rather measure life in terms of making a difference” – Stephen Sutton

Stephen achieved more than most of us would in a lifetime; resulting in him winning countless awards in recognition of his inspirational work, taking part in a Guinness world record, and most notably he has raised over £4 million for charity in just over a year.
